Biography
Julian Austin, a singer and songwriter from New Brunswick, Canada, launched his professional path by taking the stage in bars during his teenage years. His rock-infused approach to country drew from the work of Tracy Lawrence, Alan Jackson, and George Strait.
A difficult early life preceded a stint on the rodeo circuit, where he competed as a bull rider and sustained broken ribs along with lasting scars. He later committed fully to a career as a country performer, initially gaining notice as frontman of the group the Austinators. While based in Calgary, he released his first solo project, the 1997 album What My Heart Already Knows. The set earned strong fan support through tracks such as "Diamond," "Little Ol' Kisses," and "Hard Time Lovin' You." His second album, the 14-track Back in Your Life, arrived soon afterward and featured Austin’s songwriting contributions on nearly every song.
Momentum built in 2000 when he received the Canadian Country Artists of the Year honor at the RPM Big Country Awards. CMT began airing the video for his song "Forever Loving You," and the Canadian Country Music Association placed his work in nomination for Best Single, Song, Video, and Album. Outside the studio and tour schedule, Austin supports Camp Trillium, Children’s Wish, Alberta Sick Kids Hospital, and the Canadian Professional Rodeo Sport Medicine Association.
