Biography
Julian Fane, from Vancouver, Canada, crafts expansive, atmospheric soundscapes that echo those of Sigur Rós, Dntel, and M83 while dissolving distinctions between electronica and dream pop. Serving as singer, multi-instrumentalist, and programmer, he joined the band Waikiki and issued experimental electronic works under the names Aardvark Interface and Taoist Blockade, all while holding a full-time role as a NASDAQ day trader until leaving that position to devote himself wholly to music. Following his signing with Planet Mu, the artist issued his debut album, Special Forces, in fall 2004.
