Biography
Aligning alternative pop’s promising inflections with understated rock-and-roll textures, Just Add Water conveys its individuality through inventive songcraft and luminous lyrical motifs. The group came together in St. Louis, MO, in 1999, its lineup consisting of vocalist Steve Waller, guitarists Mike Steimel and Brian Nicoloff, bassist John Komotos, and drummer Peter Lang. Drawing on extensive prior experience, the five musicians projected a commanding stage identity while performing with notable fluidity. Although Waller served as principal songwriter, the remaining members each contributed to the collective creative effort. The band’s first release, The Other Side of You, reached stores in 2000; positive notices from area critics soon led Just Add Water to perform numerous concerts throughout its home region and farther afield.
