Biography
Arista Records’ clumsy incursion into hip-hop during the final years of the 1980s produced K-9 Posse. Wardell Mahone and Vernon Lynch assembled the act while attending Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey. Terrence Sheppard completed the lineup by taking the turntables in 1988. Their debut album contained socially aware verses on ‘Someone’s Brother,’ yet failed to generate any hit singles, after which the group quickly vanished from the rap scene.
