Biography
Born Kelli Ball, the Los Angeles-rooted urban soul vocalist K-Ball rose to notice in the final years of the 1990s. Discovery came via producer Chris Stokes, whose résumé already included guidance of successful artists such as Chris Stokes and Smooth. Stokes arranged her Warner Brothers deal, which yielded the November 1997 release of her debut album, On My Way. Its lead single, "Do It on the Up Side," was placed on the record in two versions—one the original recording, the other a Dat Nigga Daz remix added expressly to secure street credibility.
