DJ and producer K-Paul, whose given name is Kai Paul, originates from the former East Germany of Cold War days. Having launched his work behind the storied Berlin Wall, he has earned acclaim as one of unified Germany's most skilled studio operators. From the late '90s onward he has delivered a steady stream of polished productions, among them the well-received tracks "If You Know What I Mean," "Rage Hard," and "Please (Ma) Baby." Particularly fruitful has been his alliance with fellow German house authority DJ Lexy. Performing together as Lexy & K-Paul, the duo achieved international prominence through the chart-topping singles "The Greatest DJ" and "Freak." K-Paul further contributed a 1999 remix of the Dr Motte and Westbam cut "Music Is the Key," designated the official anthem for that year's widely attended Love Parade rave.
