Biography
Kanary Diamonds, the fierce rapper from Watts, California, stands as the West Coast counterpart to East Coast diva Foxy Brown. Her initial steps involved dancing in videos and joining an unsuccessful group modeled on Destiny's Child, until a featured appearance on Mack 10's 2005 album Hustla's Handbook opened the door to wider notice. The year after brought a contribution to Chingy's Hoodstar, followed by a minor acting part in the movie Waist Deep along with placement on its soundtrack. Tracks of hers soon appeared in episodes of MTV's Making the Band, The Real World, and Road Rules, while a collaboration with Tatyana Ali was included on the 2007 reggaeton compilation Puro Fuego.
