Biography
Kanisha K resides in Holland, Michigan, where her commanding vocal presence and fusion of pop, R&B, dance, and rock have already yielded multiple hit singles plus high-profile partnerships early in her trajectory. Michigan-born Robyn Robins, a Silver Bullet Band veteran, first encountered her during a local choir performance and subsequently escorted the young vocalist to Los Angeles for sessions at the historic Capitol Records studios. Robins helmed the project, which featured an array of seasoned session players, resulting in the 2013 release of Kanisha K’s self-titled debut album. Initial traction arrived via the single “My Another Day,” after which she enlisted Grammy-winning producer Jason Miles to rework “Stupid Boyfriend.” In 2014 she joined forces with producer Larry King and mixing engineer Craig Bauer on “Bring Me Home,” a track that performed strongly on CHR radio. Around the same period she secured endorsements from Sennheiser and Forever 21, then partnered with producer Joe Vulpis in early 2015 for the single “Oh Damn Yeah.” Beyond recording, Kanisha K lends her support to numerous humanitarian initiatives, chief among them the Humane Society of the U.S.
