Karen Jacobsen

Singer/songwriter Karen Jacobsen first gained recognition in her homeland of Australia for her delicate piano ballads prior to relocating to the United States. Having begun composing and playing piano tunes at seven years old, she nevertheless decided to move across the ocean upon reaching adulthood. Upon settling in New York City, she composed and produced the 2000 album As I Am. Independently issuing this record and marketing it online, she attracted listeners among the city's piano-bar enthusiasts along with devotees of sensitive Baroque pop. The subsequent album Being Brave came out during spring 2002.
