Biography
Vancouver, Washington, native Karen Marie Garrett began piano studies at age five and later trained with Carolyn O. James of the Sherwood Conservatory of Music. Her debut album, Classical Serenity, contained only classical works. Pensare, the follow-up, blended further classical selections with pieces by film composer Frank Sanucci. Garrett forwarded that recording to new age guitarist and producer Will Ackerman, who then helmed her third release, Allure of Sanctuary, issued November 8, 2005, and the first to include several of her original compositions. Ackerman likewise produced the entirely original fourth album, It's About the Rose, which appeared in January 2007.
