Biography
Throughout the 1980s and into the following decade, Los Angeles country and western singer Karen Tobin performed regularly as a member of the group Crazy Hearts. Atlantic signed her to a solo contract in 1991, the same year she released her traditional country album Carolina Smokey Moon. A short tenure at Arista came next, alongside European dates as a vocalist with Poco. Tobin launched her own imprint, Sunnyland, in 1997 and issued the collection Favorites under that banner the same year. Three Los Angeles singers—Lois Blaisch, Shandi Sinnamon, and Tobin—pooled their voices on the 2001 album Lady Luck, whose tracks merged country and pop elements with three-part harmonies.
