Biography
Kari Newhouse delivers vocals with an intensity that recalls Fiona Apple. Her standing as a compelling performer is confirmed by both audience support and visible success. She and her band have shared bills with leading contemporary acts including Fuel, the Push Stars, Buffalo Tom, and Beth Orton; she reached the finals of the 1998 H.O.R.D.E. Band to Band Combat and the Lilith Fair Talent Search, and appeared as a performer at Lilith Fair in 1999. The recordings issued under her name comprise 1997’s Playing Juliet and 2004’s Lit at Both Ends.
