Biography
Katherine Priddy, a folk singer and songwriter from Birmingham, employs her soft and mesmerizing vocal style to convey serious narratives reminiscent of Nick Drake and John Martyn. During her childhood, she participated in both the choir and orchestra at school, and later, as a teenager, she learned to play guitar on her own. Recognition of her abilities came when she was selected for the Next Brit Thing competition in 2014; reaching the finals allowed her to perform at London's O2 Arena. This exposure led to opening slots alongside musicians like Vashti Bunyan, Scott Matthews, and John Smith. Priddy paused her live appearances temporarily to pursue studies in English Literature, reemerging in 2019 with her first EP titled Wolf. Following appearances at various festivals and accompanying Richard Thompson on his Irish tour, she commenced work on her initial full-length record, The Eternal Rocks Beneath, issued in 2021.
