Biography
Born around 1970 in the United States, Stewart first established herself in New York before drawing a dedicated audience across the UK, where she has lived for extended periods. Her collaborations include work with John Miller as well as frequent partnerships with guitarist-songwriter Allan Bertram, who produced the album Celestial Shoes. That release proved instrumental in securing her the 2000 HMV British Country Music Award for Rising Star. Beyond writing many of her own performed numbers, including the track ‘A Piece Of Alleluia’, she has also created pieces for theatrical productions and maintains a regular presence on television throughout the Borders region of southern Scotland. The Frequent Flyers, her trio, feature Ken Kennedy on bass, harmonica, and vocals alongside Colin McFarlane, who contributes guitar, bass, and mandolin. Extensive UK touring with Bertram has taken her to numerous folk and country festivals, and she has further appeared in live performances across Spain.
