Katie Bates

Residing in Cincinnati, Ohio, Katie Bates works as a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who began composing music at ten years old before becoming a member of the Christian rock ensemble Celebrate when she reached thirteen. For twenty years, she performed on guitar, bass, and drums within that group, after which she traveled to Nashville in pursuit of partners for her initial independent projects. She formed a collaboration with Kent Wells, a producer known for his long association with Dolly Parton, resulting in joint songwriting efforts aimed at her first release. The Katie Bates EP, which captures a late 20th century adult contemporary vibe through Wells's production and Bates handling the majority of instrumental duties herself, came out via self-release during March 2017.
