Biography
Bassist Kato Hideki participated in multiple rock ensembles and improvisational collectives, serving as a co-founder of Ground Zero while directing his own outfit Bass Army on the Trigram imprint and sustaining ongoing partnerships with Tenko, Haino Keiji, and Zeena Parkins. In 1995 he united with Fred Frith and Ikue Mori to launch the Death Ambient project, which issued a pair of recordings on the Tzadik label before the decade closed.
