Originating in Brussels, the self-described Satanic pop duo Keiki consists of half-English vocalist and theremin player Dominique Van Cappellen-Waldock alongside half-Italian guitarist and programmer Raphael Rastelli. The project took shape in 2006, at which point it operated as a trio while developing a signature blend of heavy riffs, mechanical rhythms, and quirky lyrics; that same year the group issued its debut album, 10 Pieces, through the U.K.-based label Glock Music. Cheap Satanism Records followed with the second album, Waltham Holy Cross, in 2009, including the track “Andy’s Candy,” which drew inspiration from Andy Warhol’s mother. In 2011 the duo shared a split 10" with labelmates Bee and Flower, after which the third full-length, 2012’s Popcorn from the Grave, steered them toward a harder-edged sound. Cheap Satanism then handled a digital reissue of 10 Pieces the next year.
