Biography
Born in Washington, DC, Keith Ailer works as a jazz vocalist and composer whose warm, approachable style occasionally shifts toward R&B. His mother, Audrey J. Ailer, taught English in the city’s public schools, and although he developed an early fascination with music, he waited until his early twenties before committing to a professional path. While attending the University of the District of Columbia he trained in jazz with professor Calvin Jones; he also worked on his voice with Charlotte Holloman at Howard University’s School of Music. The year 1999 brought his first major step when he joined the Jazzateria roster and cut the album Spaces and Places.
