Kenneth Cope

Kenneth Cope, an award-winning songwriter, producer, and performer, completed his training at the High School for the Performing Arts in Houston, Texas. He launched his music career by writing songs expressly for the youth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Within that community he reached a larger audience in 1989 with the concept album Greater Than Us All, which centered on Christ. Both his own material and compositions by others came alive on the extraordinary concept album Women at the Well, devoted to women of the scriptures. While his work has generally remained in the Sacred/Inspirational vein, he chose a mainstream CCM direction for the 1991 and 1998 releases Voices and Stories from Eden's Garden. The latter earned five Pearl Awards, among them Album of the Year. He and his wife Kathy raise three daughters in Salt Lake City, Utah.
