Biography

In Manchester, vocalist Paul Taylor joined guitarist James Mountford to launch the group in 1991 under the name Collision, which later became Kerosene. A drum machine and sampler handled the early rhythm duties until bassist Mr. Hancox and drummer Gus joined the lineup. The band's U.S. debut arrived in 1993 via Sire with the album Arrythmia, which highlighted their crunchy, U.K. alterna-pop approach.
