Biography
Originating in Kerrville, Texas, during 1972, the Kerrville Folk Festival launched when thirteen performers who knew each other well assembled for the first time. The event has sustained its momentum through the twenty-first century, earning enthusiastic praise while attracting accomplished artists across folk, country, bluegrass, and alternative styles. Lasting approximately eighteen days, the festival frequently allows audiences to experience performances that stretch well past midnight once the headline sets finish. Acquisition by the nonprofit Texas Folk Music Foundation in 2008 has since permitted the gathering to accept tax-deductible contributions and wider public backing.
