Kerry Politzer

Pianist Kerry Politzer began her studies at New England Conservatory, directing her keyboard skills toward jazz. She earned her diploma in 1993, spent time performing alongside multiple jazz musicians, and later launched an independent career that produced a series of solo albums. Third place in the Songwriters Association of America Competition came to her in 2000, the same year the John Lennon Songwriting Competition awarded her an honorable mention. Her debut release, the 2001 album Yearning, presented a Brazilian jazz collection of brief, tightly focused tracks that drew comparisons to Eliane Elias. Watercolor followed the next year, widening the stylistic range to embrace further jazz and swing influences.
