Khold

Khold arose in Oslo during 2000 as a Norwegian black metal band whose sound favors a raw, old-school approach reminiscent of Darkthrone and leans toward mid-paced tempos instead of the blastbeats that dominate the genre. The founding members were vocalist/guitarist Gard, born Sverre Stokland, guitarist Rinn, bassist Eikind—previously known as Lars Eric Si—and drummer Sarke. Their debut album, Masterpiss of Pain, appeared the next year on Moonfog Records. Phantom followed in 2002, Mørke Gravers Kammer in 2003, and Krek in 2005, with the EP De Dødes Tjern appearing in the same period; all of these later releases featured bassist Grimd. After completing that body of work the group entered an indefinite hiatus so its members could focus on separate projects.
