Biography
In 2004 the Leeds, U.K., five-piece Kid iD took shape after university student Ralph Pelleymounter, who handled guitar and vocals, crossed paths with Will More on drums and vocals and Josh Platman, whose instruments included bass, cello, and vocals. Drawing sonic influence from the horn-driven alternative pop of the Rumble Strips, the initial trio began playing shows and was soon augmented by Pete Mycroft on trumpet, vocals, and percussion together with Ian Dudfield, who contributed trombone, vocals, and percussion. The completed band spent 2006 touring venues across the U.K. and issued its first album, That Dreaded Monster What If, two years later. BBC radio airplay for the record translated into festival appearances at Reading and Leeds later that same year.
