Biography
Kid Static works as a Chicago rapper and producer, maintaining occasional ties to fellow Chicago artist Yea Big, who shares the same dual role. Although he prioritizes production shaped by experimental electronica influences, it is his rapping that draws the strongest notice. His first solo album, Have You Seen This Man?, appeared in 2005 through the independent imprint Anodyne Electric Company. During 2007 he teamed with Yea Big on two projects: the 7" EP The Heavy, issued by Metal Postcard, and the full-length Yea Big + Kid Static, released via Jib Door. Beyond recording, the pair also shared stages, including a support slot for Rhymefest at Chicago’s Metro, and they embarked on tours together.
