Biography
Kid Vinil served as presenter for multiple rock and pop programs broadcast on radio and television, among them Rock Show, Likidificador, Rock Sandwich, Mocidade Independente, and Som Pop. The rockabilly outfit Verminose came into existence under his leadership during 1980. Magazine emerged as the new name for that ensemble by 1983. That very year saw the track "Sou Boy," credited to Ted Gaz and Aguinaldo, achieve widespread popularity across the country. Further hits arrived in 1984 via "Tic-tic Nervoso" from Antônio Luiz and Marcos Serra along with "Adivinhão" penned by Baby Santiago. Once the album Magazine appeared on WEA in 1984, Kid Vinil departed the group to establish Kid Vinil e os Heróis do Brasil alongside André Christovam. Magazine welcomed him back in 1991. Zeca Baleiro paid homage with the song "Kid Vinil" on his first record, Por Onde Andará Stephen Fry?, released in 1997.
