Biography
Kill Me Tomorrow unleashes caustic dance-punk that initially registers as both corrosive and intoxicating. Underneath the erratic, percussive onslaughts, however, the compositions reveal an unusually memorable melodic foundation. "Noir wave" serves as perhaps the most fitting label for their style, fusing new wave pop with the shadowy goth rock exemplified by Bauhaus and Joy Division.
Formed in San Diego during 1998, the group later stabilized around the real-life married couple of drummer Zack Wentz and bassist K8 Wince alongside guitarist Dan Wise; they had already shared stages with Blackheart Procession and the Locust. Their first album, Chrome Yellow, appeared on Silver Girl Records and incorporated remixes from Pall Jenkins of the Blackheart Procession together with guitars treated so heavily that they emulate analog keyboard textures. The I Require Chocolate 7" arrived on GSL in 2002, its title track delivering a gritty, sexually charged jolt that sharpened appetites for electro-punk. During 2003 Kill Me Tomorrow contributed to a GSL compilation and issued the Skin's Getting Weird 12". The Garbageman and the Prostitute, a full-length explosion of sonic death punk, surfaced in 2004 and came bundled with a DVD containing four of the band's videos.
