Kiyana

In September 2011, Atlanta R&B vocalist Kiyana entered Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop singles chart with the poignant single “Take Me Away,” which appeared on her mixtape Confessions of a Virgo. The recording, styled in a manner close to the work of Kandi and Keyshia Cole, draws its primary sample from Luniz’s 1995 hit “I Got Five on It,” itself built on an interpolation of Club Nouveau’s 1987 hit “Why You Treat Me So Bad.” Kiyana issued the follow-up single “No Love” in 2012 and released the mixtape Confessions of a Virgo 2 in early 2013.
