Biography
Originating from the name of legendary German performer Klaus Kinski, the indie pop duo based in Murcia, Spain, began forming near the midpoint of the 2000s once producer and multi-instrumentalist Alejandro Martínez enlisted vocalist Marina Gómez to contribute singing to his early recordings. Following notable festival slots and contest wins, they issued their first full-length record, Tu Hoguera Está Ardiendo, during 2008. Critics singled out the 2010 follow-up Tierra, Trágalos as among that year's strongest Spanish releases, commending the pair's inventive blend that folded disparate touches—sampling, bolero, shoegaze, disco, and Charleston—into one coherent vision. By the arrival of Herreros y Fatigas in 2012, Klaus & Kinski had grown to encompass three fairly consistent additional players: Paco Martínez Tomás, Antonio de Vicente-Yagüe, and Pilar Crespo Amador.
