Komando Negro

The Mexican-American norteño ensemble Komando Negro delivers energetic corridos rooted in the legacy of Los Tigres del Norte and Flaco Jimenez. Five close companions from Cali-Mex—Santiago Martinez, Josue Arrizon, Daniel Gonzalez, Alfonso Quinonez, and Roberto Lopez—established the group in 2009 through their common enthusiasm for longstanding regional Mexican traditions. Their opening effort, Los Komandantes del Corrido, appeared in 2011, followed the next year by Al Estilo Italiano and its featured single "Ya Te Fregaste." Subiendo Escalones reached listeners in 2013 and spotlighted both the title cut and the single "Go." Released in 2014 as the fourth studio album in four years, Manteniendo el Nivel stood between two live concert recordings. Three collaborative singles came next: "Rojo Es Mi Color" with Lenin Ramirez, "Simplemente Guayaba" with Grupo Fernandez, and "Verde el Billete" featuring Los Amigos de Culiacan. Their fifth LP, Fuentes Dicen, surfaced in 2016.
