Biography
Originating in Innsbruck, Austria, Korovakill arose as a follow-up project to the band Korova, a transition that seemed unnecessary because its creators—Christof Niederweiser on vocals, guitars, and keyboards together with Moritz Neuner on drums—had already led the earlier group and might have simply dismissed the remaining members. They chose instead to launch a new lineup that included keyboardist Renaud Tschirner. The outfit’s striking 2001 debut Waterhells delivered the same fusion of black, death, gothic, and progressive metal heard on Korova’s last album, the widely praised Dead Like an Angel, yet neither Korova nor Korovakill issued any further recordings.
