Biography
Kristin Miltner, who forms one half of the electronic duo Miba alongside Mark Bartscher, works as both composer and videographer. She earned her degree from Mills College, where she cultivated and refined a compositional approach that fuses music directly with video imagery. In addition, she creates custom software to support her live performances. Although her primary instrument remains the computer, she also contributes vocals and piano. Miltner has appeared both alone and as part of Miba, while her video pieces have screened at the Rencontres International Film and Video Festival in Berlin. Her first solo release, the 2007 album Grains on Prae, was followed by Music for Dreaming and Playing, issued as the eighth installment in Asthmatic Kitty’s Library Catalog Music Series.
