Biography
Born in Brooklyn, one of New York City’s boroughs, to Trinidadian parents, Kashana Green performs under the name Kween Kash. An early desire to work in music later led her to sharpen her craft as a college radio DJ by trading spontaneous rhymes with on-air visitors. Although rap forms the core of her approach, she moves fluidly into reggae and soca, revealing an affinity for Lauryn Hill, Lady Saw, and the Notorious B.I.G. Pure Fire, her debut album, was slated for independent release on the Hot Wax label in spring 2007.
