Kyf Brewer's compositions achieved their broadest reach after landing on television programs such as "Party Of Five", "Baywatch" and "Dawson's Creek". Serving as host for the VH1 series "Before They Were Rock Stars", he drew on his prior musical work to pursue higher-profile opportunities.

His earliest recognition arrived in the 1980s as a member of the Baltimore rock group The Ravyns. The band's high point occurred once their single "Raised On The Radio" appeared in the film "Fast Times In Ridgemont High". During the early 1990s Brewer joined the power roots rock outfit Company Of Wolves, which landed three singles—"Call Of The Wild", "The Distance" and "Hangin' By A Thread"—inside the AOR top twenty. He began his solo career in 1994 with the album "Me And My Big Mouth", issuing the follow-up "Salvador Deli" in 1998.

In addition to performing and recording alongside Billy Squire, Michael Bolton and Junior Wells, Brewer has performed Scottish music with The Loch Rannoch Pipe Band, an ensemble of American pipers and drummers directed by Scottish drum major Sandy Sinclair and pipe major Keith Swanson, who has taught him bagpipe technique.
