The origins of la Blues Band de Granada date to 1989 following stints under alternate names. Their initial major concert took place in May 1990, when the group opened for Johnny Winter. El Mejor Blues De la Ciudad followed shortly thereafter on Cambayá Records. Guitarists José Luis Pizarro and Carlos Martin along with pianist David Lenker came aboard next, resulting in the 1991 Big Band Records release Negro En Tierra de Blancas. Estanis Peinado assumed piano duties in place of Lenker during 1994, the same year bassist Joaquín Caballero, singer Connie Resch, and guitarist Javier García joined the lineup and helped shape La Vida No Es Tan Fácil. July 2000 brought a successful performance with Graham Foster at San Clemente's Plaza de Toros.
