Biography
In 1992 Jorge Garacotche, the former singer and guitarist of Canturbe, joined bassist Fernando Bellini to launch the Argentine Latin rock outfit la Caja. Pablo Rodríguez soon added saxophone, Dito Pugliese took the drum chair, and Florencia Ciarlo supplied vocals; together they tracked their first release, Aparato De Tranquilidad, in Buenos Aires, sent the tapes to Los Angeles for mastering, and saw EMI issue the album in 1996. Guitarist and saxophonist Francisco Huici plus drummer Claudio Arancibia later rounded out the roster, enabling the group to deliver El Baile De Los Fósiles shortly afterward.
