Biography
Lady Te first generated local attention in her native Detroit while still a teenager, deploying cocky rhymes and a brash delivery on the club single "I Know I Look Good (Ponytail)." Her sound and persona pay homage to TLC’s Left Eye, yet her aggressive stance and dance-rap approach draw primary inspiration from MC Lyte, Missy Elliott, and Ludacris. Born Terra Twymon, the lifelong Detroiter began experimenting with rap around age ten. A standout pupil, she saw one of her poems published during middle school. Balancing academic honors and typical teenage concerns, she released her debut album, Terra-Fied, in 2006. Like the earlier single, the project leaned on hard-edged club cuts driven by prominent synths and lyrics saturated with self-assurance.
