Biography
Originating from Gothenburg, Sweden, Laethora functions as a side project for Niklas Sundin, guitarist in Dark Tranquillity and a sought-after graphic designer. He aimed to restore the raw intensity of the early-'90s Swedish death metal scene and U.K. grindcore, updating those elements for the new millennium. Starting in 2006, Sundin recruited guitarist Joakim Rosén, bassist Jonnie Täll, and drummer Joel Lindell—all three also active in the goth metal band the Provenance—alongside vocalist Jonathan Nordenstam. The resulting lineup produced the 2007 debut March of the Parasite, which was followed three years later by Laethora's second album, The Light in Which We All Burn.
