Biography
Following the 1980 disbandment of the Strawbs by Dave Cousins, who stepped away from music entirely to work as a deejay, fellow members Dave Lambert and Chas Cronk—acquainted well before their shared tenure in the group—resolved to record an album as a pair. Industry attention proved impossible to secure amid prevailing tastes for punk, new wave, and power pop, leaving the project abandoned. Once the Strawbs later reformed, both musicians returned to the fold and, alongside Cousins, now constitute two thirds of the Acoustic Strawbs trio, which performed across the United States during the spring and summer of 2009. The album Touch the Earth finally appeared in 2007, augmented by two extra tracks.
