Biography
Formed in 1997, the Dutch-language hip-hop duo of Lange Frans (Frans Frederiks) and Baas B. (Bart Zeilstra) first united inside the wider D-Men collective alongside Brutus (Thijs Frederiks) and DJ Crowdkiller. The D-Men issued their debut single in 1999 and spent the following years cultivating an audience via compilation spots, remixes, and a People’s Choice Award victory at the 2001 Grand Prix of the Netherlands talent contest. Opting to operate apart from D-Men in 2004, Frans and Baas delivered their own first single, “Supervisie,” that same year. By year’s end the pair had issued the album Supervisie and topped the charts with “Zinloos.” Their next project, Het Land Van, appeared in 2005.
