Biography
Lassigue Bendthaus functioned as the electro-industrial outlet for prolific experimental musician Uwe Schmidt among his array of aliases. The project's debut album Matter surfaced first on Parade Amoureuse before receiving a later American release through Metropolis. Schmidt subsequently transferred Lassigue Bendthaus to the Contempo label, which issued Cloned in 1992, an album centered on the creative application of sampling. The companion release Cloned: Binary presented a fully disassembled rendering of Cloned built from an extensive collection of samples that Schmidt encouraged listeners to manipulate and rebuild. The project's final outputs, Render and Render Audible, appeared in 1994 on the KK label. By then Schmidt's Atom Heart work had attained major success and required the bulk of his creative focus.
