Biography
Swedish sextet Last Amanda blend melodic alternative rock influences drawn from U2, Sugar, and the Oyster Band with an emotional intensity rooted in their Scandinavian origins. Formed by longtime friends, the lineup features vocalist Mårten Larsson, bass player Nicholas Oja, drummer Peter Limber, and guitarists Andreas Magnusson and Magnus Sandberg. Local recognition came their way, yet ambitions pointed toward another coastline. They retreated to an isolated cabin to write the songs that formed their first album, and even after generating considerable interest within Stockholm’s music circles, the members relocated to Los Angeles, CA. Booking sessions at The Sound Factory in Hollywood, they enlisted Dave Holedridge (Incubus, Ben Harper, Hoobastank) to produce. The resulting self-titled LP appeared in June 2004.
