Last Stand, the garage-infused punk-pop group, has featured Tom Keenan on lead and rhythm guitar plus vocals, Pete Mulford covering the same guitar roles and vocals, Cathy DeMarco on drums, and an assortment of bassists that includes Tom Carnali, Frank Schact, and Romeo Santo. The band has maintained activity since 1984, the year it released its debut split single on the Taang! label alongside Noonday Underground, pairing “Injun Joe” with “Scum Guns.” A three-song EP titled Coup D’etat appeared the following year, succeeded in 1986 by the first full-length album, Approved Cuts. Additional recordings arrived later in the decade with Faith in Fate in 1988 and Boston Callin in 1989, after which the group entered a hiatus by the middle of the 1990s. A reunion show that sold out TT The Bears in Cambridge, MA, in 1998 brought the members back together and yielded Any Battle Won, their first full-length album in quite some time.
