Laughing Stock

Despite being headquartered in Austin, the four-piece Laughing Stock maintains a dispersed footprint across Texas, with members also residing in Denton and Waco. Limited chances for live performances have resulted from this geographic spread, yet the group—Mario Pena on bass, Roger on drums, Gerald Alvarez handling vocals, and Richard Guerrero on guitar and vocals—has still issued a pair of hybrid punk and emo releases, the latter described by the band as the “e word,” on TFC Records. Their recorded output began in 1997 with the Happenstance Chronology 7", followed by the full-length Long Bus Ride From Capital City.
