Biography
Laura Molinelli, recognized as a vocalist, guitarist, and composer, entered the world in Tarrytown, New York, during 1967. Her ambition toward a life in music surfaced early, as she created her debut composition while still enrolled in third grade. At fifteen she obtained her initial guitar and, assisted by a companion, acquired playing skills through independent practice. The process of generating music quickly became an absorbing pursuit. She launched her professional path in 1991 by taking stages at regional taverns and inns, steadily drawing listeners along the way. Blending country with pop and R&B elements, her sound attracts audiences from both the country and pop communities.
Since those modest starts nearly ten years earlier, Molinelli has shared bills with an array of performers that includes Cheryl Wheeler, Lucinda Williams, John Gorka, Patty Larkin, and others. She has simultaneously written and produced two complete albums amid her touring schedule. Her engaging follow-up full-length release, Stones, appeared on the Foolish Records label.
