Biography
At the age of eight, during his enrollment at a mission school, Tembo lost his sight. Faculty members urged him toward music, prompting him to devote his energies to mastering an array of instruments and developing compositional skills. He earned passing marks on the Cambridge Music exams, yet set aside any musical path after receiving an appointment as minister in Kenneth Kaunda’s newly independent government.
