Biography
Born on 17 June 1951 in Leominster, Massachusetts, Lenny LeBlanc joined forces with Pete Carr, who entered the world on 22 April 1950 in Daytona Beach, Florida, to form a duo that secured one charting album alongside several singles during the closing years of the 1970s, most notably the US Top 20 hit “Falling.” Prior to that partnership Carr had performed in Hourglass, the ensemble that preceded the Allman Brothers Band and included Duane and Gregg Allman among its members. He subsequently established himself as a session player and encountered LeBlanc amid recording dates in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Each artist first attempted a solo album, yet neither effort registered commercially. In 1978 they combined talents on the Big Tree release Midnight Light, which yielded three charting singles; “Falling,” the second of these, climbed to number 18. When the album’s title track proved unable to sustain that momentum, the pair disbanded and resumed session duties. Carr later contributed guitar to Paul Simon recordings, while LeBlanc redirected his career toward Christian music.
