Lee Vasi creates soulful contemporary Christian R&B from her Atlanta base and delivers an empowering message through her work. Her breakthrough arrived in 2024 when the single “Teach Me” appeared on the Billboard charts.

Her Puerto Rican-Dominican and African American heritage supplied a broad range of musical influences, and she began writing original material by age ten while also performing as Young Nala in the Broadway production of The Lion King. During the 16th season of American Idol in 2018 she advanced to the Top 50 yet did not reach the final 24; the experience prompted a period of self-reflection that deepened her embrace of Christian faith. The 2023 release “My Bad” drew widespread attention once her bilingual version circulated virally on social media. The following year “Teach Me” became her first charting entry, climbing to number two on the Billboard Gospel Digital Song Sales chart and number 21 on the Hot Gospel Songs list.
