Biography
Leigh Ashford came together in 1966 inside a Toronto high school, founded by vocalist Buzz Sherman, guitarist Gord Waszek, bassists Joe Agnello and Don Elliot, drummer Wally Cameron, and keyboard player Newton Gerard. After performing together for one year, the lineup merged with the Spirit and operated thereafter as the Spirit Revue. Following that ensemble’s 1968 breakup, Leigh Ashford re-formed, entered a deal with Nimbus 9, and recorded its self-titled debut in 1971 before splitting up the same year.
