Biography
Les Clochards craft sleek and eclectic pop songs threaded with accordion textures, pulling inspiration from sources ranging across Gene Vincent and Billy Fury to French chanson, where Jacques Brel functions as a clear reference point. Ian Nixon, serving as frontman, and accordionist Karen Cleave established the band in England in 2005, after which drummer Gary Neville, vocalist Corinne Mateo, guitarist Peter Momtchiloff, and bassist Dean Ryan joined to complete the ensemble. Their first full-length album, Sweet Tableaux, came out on Big Red Sky Records in 2009.
